Shazam! A character look and nail art
How to recreate a superhero inspired look
This week I created a simple nail art and makeup look based on the DC Warner Brothers Movie Shazam! and Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
In these movies, based on a comic series, a young teenager is magically transformed into an adult super hero complete with a red spandex outfit. To find out more about the film be sure to check out this post on my other blog here!
Shazam! The Look
All good superheroes, as we know, favour tight-fitting spandex in bright, bold colours.
Whilst I wasn’t prepared to go skin tight I could still compile an outfit-or bound- which gives the feel of the character without the costume! In this case some red clothes were all that was needed along with the classic teenage accessories of gum and a phone of course!
The Makeup
To prep for the makeup look I used Revolution priming spray and eye primer.
Next because of the intensity of the eye colours I created the look of the eyes first before applying base.
I used two tones of pinky red Revolution shadow blended across the eye (one matte, one shimmer) into a nude under the eyebrow. In the centre of my eye I applied Unicorn Cosmetics Neon Voltage pigments in a pinky-orange colour.
I used liquid eyeliner to create a graphic line around the eye, finishing with mascara. In the end I decided against lashes.
With this done I applied concealer and base. I then used the Revolution Pro Base Contour palette to contour and highlight-dark brown contour, peachy highlight, yellow tone under eyes. I then topped this with the Revolution Strobe Highlight palette.
On the lips I used two different red liquid lipsticks, one all over and then one just in the middle to create a strong defined shape.
Finally I used the dark brown and highlight from the Revolution Eyebrow Kit on my eyebrows for some serious power brows!
Shazam Inspired Nail Art
For my nail look I used the main outfit as inspiration.
First I prepared my nails and used a basecoat.
Next I painted red nail polish on every nail but my thumb. I painted the thumb gold.
When this was dry I used a thin brush to paint a lightning bolt on my ring finger. You could also build it up with a small dotting tool.
Seal with a top coat and Shazam! Your nails are done!
