Minnie Mouse Nail Art Ideas
How to create nail art inspired by the main mouse herself
Minnie Mouse nail art is perfect this January whether you are celebrating rock the dots day at home or in the Disney parks.
Minnie Mouse is always a classic style icon and makes for the perfect inspiration for some classy Disney nail art! Check out my Minnie Mouse inspired outfit and makeup to complete the look too.
Take a look below at 5 different ideas to rock the dots and celebrate everyone’s favourite girl mouse!
Minnie loves Mickey
A simple red base (bonus points for glitter) perfectly compliments these Disney nail art stickers. Featuring Mickey, Minnie and Hearts nail stickers can be make cute nails easy and accessible. These stickers are very flat which is perfect for longevity but its often worth a coat of top coat too!
Dotty for Minnie Mouse Nail Art
- First I painted my my thumb and ring finger white
- Then the rest of my fingers red.
- When this was dry I then used a dotting tool to create Minnie Mouse’s polka dots on the red nails. I did this in a regular pattern form of two offset lines.
- For the ring finger I took a smaller dotting tool and did line of three dots to form Mickey head icons.
- Finally for the thumb I took the dotting tool and created one larger Mickey outline.
Daisy Duck and Minnie Mouse Nail Art
These simple nails represent Minnie and her bestie Daisy with an abstraction of their key colours. Red for Minnie and lilacy blue for Daisy, paired with white.
- I started off with a base of white polish. I used Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Cotton.
- I then french-tiped alternate nails in Gelly Hi Shines. I used Blueberry for Daisy and Blood Orange for Minnie.
- If you wanted you could just pick one colour-no need to alternate!
- I then created gold dots using a Marks and Spencer’s Gold Polish. This is to represent Minnie’s polka dots and also their yellow shoes!
Minnie Mouse meets the 50’s
These vintage style nails were created with a base of Blood Orange Gelly Hi Shine topped with Ruby Slippers, both Barry M.
The French tip and ellipse (little semi circle at the bottom of the nail) were created with Cotton Gelly Hi Shine.
I then added some Disney style. On one nail I used a Minnie mouse sticker while Mickey was created with a dotting tool and black polish.
Reverse stamping Minnie Mouse nail art
Finally a bit of reverse nail stamping if you wanted to try more advanced nail art techniques!
- First I used Barry M Cotton polish to prep the nails
- From the tips I created a gradient with Holo Taco’s Red Licorice.
- For the little finger and index finger I used Mundo de Unas Dumbo plate to create celebratory images!
- I then used Holo Taco’s gold anniversary flakie to highlight areas of the design.
- I also coloured in the party blowers with Red Licorice and Lemon Sucker.
- The ring finger also features the Holo Taco Anniversary Flakie and Lemon Sucker hand painted on top.
- For the middle finger I used Star Nails 22 plate from Mundo De Unas and reversed stamped Mickey and Minnie.
- I used the same polishes to colour them in before letting them dry on the stamper then applied them to my nails as decals.
