Coco Inspired Day of the Dead Makeup
Coco inspired Day of the Dead makeup and nails are the perfect way to pay homage to those we have lost. What is the Day of the Dead? It is a time for the living to remember their friends and family who have departed and celebrate them. In our multicultural society, it is important that as we pick up pieces of other cultures we do not appropriate them. But a different way to experience and share…

Angelica Rugrats Makeup
Character makeup and look I recently explored an Angelica inspired character look and makeup. Angelica is a character everyone loves to hate from the 90’s TV show The Rugrats. Halloween is the perfect opportunity to explore some character looks and makeup. Why I created the look “Sometimes I wish I could be you, just so I could be friends with me!“ For Colormehalloween we were given the theme to create a look inspired by a non-Disney TV show. I immediately thought of one of the few Nickelodeon shows I know-The Rugrats. Angelica for the Rugrats has all sorts of confidence going on which is definitely not a personality trait she…

Ariel, The Little Mermaid, meets the 1950’s
Character makeup looks Ariel meets the 1950’s in this weeks look. This look was inspired by an Instagram challenge called #colormehalloween. One of the themes was Disney Decades. Therefore I created a look for Ariel, from the Little Mermaid, with a 1950’s twist. The Look The look started with this skirt from the vintage style brand Lindy Bop featuring mermaids in a ‘pin up’ style. I then paired this with a purple bow top to compliment Ariel’s outfit in the Disney film (green tail, purple shell bra!). I added a cute 50’s feel cardigan along with fishnet tights (do you get it?!) and DIY glittery low heels. As well as…

Crying a rainbow of tears. “After the rain, the sun will reappear. There is life. After the pain, the joy will still be here.” Walt Disney Lacking inspiration I haven’t been feeling my best recently which has left my creativity lacking so this week I tried just having a play with make-up rather than set ideas. So I came up with these rainbow tears because even in sadness there is joy. Makeup look created with Revolution’s large eye shadow palette picked up with a wet brush so the neon colours would run. ”It’s coming down on me Teardrops on my face Water like misery Let it wash away my sins…
