Ariel, The Little Mermaid, meets the 1950’s
Character makeup looks Ariel meets the 1950’s in this weeks look. This look was inspired by an Instagram challenge called #colormehalloween. One of the themes was Disney Decades. Therefore I created a look for Ariel, from the Little Mermaid, with a 1950’s twist. The Look The look started with this skirt from the vintage style brand Lindy Bop featuring mermaids in a ‘pin up’ style. I then paired this with a purple bow top to compliment Ariel’s outfit in the Disney film (green tail, purple shell bra!). I added a cute 50’s feel cardigan along with fishnet tights (do you get it?!) and DIY glittery low heels. As well as…

Minnie Mouse Inspired Makeup
Yoo-hoo! Today’s look is inspired by the legend that is Minnie Mouse Minnie Mouse, Mickeys forever girlfriend/fiancé/wife (depending on what merch you are looking at!) and companion was introduced in 1928 and has remained a steadfast central character ever since. Minnie’s spotted bow is almost as iconic as her mouse ears and she is loved the world over. She received her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2018 and she is seen as fashion icon in her own right-after all Minnie ‘rocks the dots‘ So to pay homage to my favourite mouse I created this Minnie mouse inspired look. To see more on the outfit be sure…

Rainbow tears makeup
Crying a rainbow of tears. “After the rain, the sun will reappear. There is life. After the pain, the joy will still be here.” Walt Disney Lacking inspiration I haven’t been feeling my best recently which has left my creativity lacking so this week I tried just having a play with make-up rather than set ideas. So I came up with these rainbow tears because even in sadness there is joy. Makeup look created with Revolution’s large eye shadow palette picked up with a wet brush so the neon colours would run. ”It’s coming down on me Teardrops on my face Water like misery Let it wash away my sins…

Pride Month: Rainbow Makeup
Happy Pride Month! It’s time to show some Pride and let your true flag fly. This is a safe and inclusive place for everyone, makeup and nail art can truly be for anyone. But whilst its fun to get in the spirit and wear a rainbow its important to remember to not let rainbow-washed brands confuse you into consumerism (when they don’t really support charities doing important work) and remember why Pride started and how we as a planet, and a species have so far to go still! What is Pride Month? For more than the last 50 years Pride Month, June, has been a month to celebrate the LGBTQ+…

Fluid Nail Art-How not to do it?!
I had a go at fluid nail art and its fair to say it didn’t work how I wanted it to! What is fluid nail art? What fluid nail art should be is the reaction of nail polish with silicone to create ‘cells’ in the polish. Taking 2-3 colours and a silicone creating product and you should be able to create beautiful nail decals like these from xoxo, Jen. I mean, how cute are they?! How to do fluid nail art? I couldn’t find too much sensible/helpful information online as I don’t own a ‘Spot it’ top coat (or it seems, any beauty products with silicone in-which is good for…

Skincare tips, the best products for Milia
Skincare for dry skin Milia, or those small little white bumps are annoying at best, painful at worst. Skincare is an important step for makeup, and in life. Skin is the largest organ in the body and it’s important we treat it as such. If you had problems with your heart, lungs or another organ you would do something about it. So don’t ignore skin problems or the hints your skin may be giving you. I personally have dry skin, which I’ve had my whole life along with skin sensitivities and allergies. Dry skin is prone to creating and trapping Milia. I have recently been trying these three products which…

Women of Star Wars makeup
This is the May The looks of the women of Star Wars makeup represents their characters, their struggles and their places in the saga. More than just skin deep, whilst the films do lack equal representation, the women we do get are complex and strong. I created these makeup looks when we marathoned the Star Wars Films on Disney Plus before finally finishing the saga with The Rise of Skywalker. How to create Women of Star Wars makeup Queen Amidala Padme Amidala always wore the most beautiful clothes and makeup so I’ve mashed up her queenly makeup here with an outfit more based on her reality as a senator at…
