Studio London, A Review of Superdrug’s Eye and Face palette
A quality review of a multipurpose palette from Superdrug
Studio London is a makeup brand within the Superdrug family.
I can not resist something glittery so when I saw Superdrug’s glittery gold eye and face palette on sale at £9, and vegan too. I had to give it a go!
Review of Studio London Palette
Here I give you a full make-up look using this palette.
I’ll give you a run down of everything I thought, these are my personal opinions and relate my own skin types and tone. (I personally have dark blonde hair and pale skin with a yellowy olive tone)
Face and base
The makeup set has a range of concealers and face products including colour correcting and powders. I found the concealer too pastel for me. The colour-correcting tones are quite good, slightly iridescent which I wasn’t too keen on, but I liked them overall. For light coverage you could use the powders (make sure to blend!) which I felt were a slightly odd selection of tones or your own foundation.
So the powders (3 across the middle) are designed for the contour and then underneath there is an extremely dark shade (for contour or bronze), a blush and a highlight. I personally go very light with contour. I like a nice natural day look so these colours weren’t great for me and I would never really bother to layer this much for daytime but each to their own.
Best thing about the powders is their formula, they seem very powdery in the palette but actually on the face they blend great and there is no real powdery fallout.
The highlight is far too shimmery for me though so tread carefully!
Eyebrows and Eyes
If you’re doing a heavy eye look always put that on first then do your foundation but I think if you’re doing a typical day look then you can do your base and just put whatever eye stuff you want to as long as you’re careful with fallout.
Now I’m onto eyebrows and I’ve got an angle brush out. There are no specific eyebrow colours but there are loads of different colours of brown in your set so you should be able to find one that matches your tones. Again no powder fall out and it looks great!
With the wide range of beautiful eye shadow colours it’s well worth the £9, some are neutral, some are fun, glittery, matte etc. All with the same great effect and the colour lasts all day without creasing so I think the palette is worth it just for these!
Is the Studio London palette worth it?
In summary I really think that the Superdrug Studio London vegan face palette is worth the money. I don’t like the blush powders and I think you have to be careful with concealer/corrector, it does not replace other individual products but it is good for every day with enough sparkle and fun for a party look too.
I would purchase more Studio London products and look forward to trying more from the brand.
