This is a look I created a while ago to celebrate the release of The Lion King in cinemas-what feels like a lifetime ago! To check out my movie review hop on over here!

The Lion King Inspired Makeup
To create the makeup for this week’s look I focused on the eyes of the lion as this is what I found most striking watching the film in the cinema.
The Makeup
First I applied concealer and base for a blank look.
Using a peachy blend of face paint I traced around my eyes and created a loop similar to Simba’s eyebrows. Then I lined my eyes with black eyeliner and created a wing shape.
I wanted the eyes to blend into the face so I used an orange eye shadow and dusted this around the outside of the line, and in the loop, blending out the edges with a brush.
I then blended it out with a bronze powder which I took down my nose and a gold which I buffed round the edges.
Finally I created dots with face paint in colours of blue and green that were represented in my skirt!
The Nail Art
For the nail design specifically I was inspired by the skies.
On the thumb I created the night scene from ‘Hakuna Matata’ montage scene.
To do this I painted the nail dark blue. When dry, I then painted a white half semi circle at the edge of my nail to represent the moon. I then used a dotting tool and some grey polish to represent shadows on the moon to add definition.
For the fingers I was inspired by the savanna scenes.
I started off by painting them orange. Once dry I then painted a joined semi circle over the tips of my ring and middle finger.
These fingers will represent the beginning ‘Circle of Life’ scene.
When this was dry I took a sponge and painted red, orange and yellow on it and stamped it on each of my nails to create an ombre effect.
I added definition and clouds with a dotting tool. I also used a dotting tool to create the black outline of a tree and edged the nails!
How would you design a makeup and nail art inspired by The Lion King?
