These seasonal Christmas Glitters are back were back last year for one last festive treat. After Christmas 2023 these beautiful glitters were retired!
Holo Taco Christmas Collection Polish Review
I have recently been swatching the beautiful Christmas collection from Holo Taco which is 6 glitter polishes full of holo and coloured glitter. This was originally released for Christmas 2021 but is being released this “holo-day” season too (however without the collection box).
What polishes are in the Holo Taco Christmas Collection?
I bought the collection when it came in a collection box which is now sold out but the collection bottles are still available online.
The polishes included are
Black Holo Wish-a black polish with tons of holo shine
Plumb Luck-a plum coloured which I surprisingly loved
Naughty List-a red which I felt somehow was quite a basic red and probably my least favourite
Gold Play Button-a solid gold effect polish, beautiful!
Everything is Pine-a stunning green polish
Choco-Holo-a surprisingly pretty brown polish
These polishes are perfect for festive nail art.
How many coats to opaque?
These polishes all take 2-3 thin layers to hit opaque. Definitely use a base coat (probably a peely one as glitter polishes are hard to remove) and a top coat for the perfect shine.
What are the finishes of the Holo Taco Christmas Collection polishes?
The polishes do have a rough finish but only slightly and a good layer of Glossy Taco (also from Holo Taco) easily coats and covers giving that beautiful smooth finish.
If you love glitter and holo polishes I definitely recommend these and any of the Holo Taco glitter formulas-you won’t be disappointed!
Previous Holo-day Glitter Collections
I first received Holo Taco polishes back in Christmas 2019 including their “Everyday is a Holo Day” collection which has a similar formula to these polishes. (In 2020 for Christmas a collection of metal effect polishes were released.)
First I can say these do not disappoint. Within three coats they were opaque colours with beautiful glitter. Totally irresistible. Now I have had them for 3 years they do occasionally need a drop of thinner but they are still very much usable.
The set came with 5 colours and I couldn’t pick a favourite as they are just all so pretty. Although the collection box is no longer available. The polishes are still available on their website.
I also love the design of the box, although it makes storing them quite large I will keep them forever in it!
The colours in this collection were:
- Play Rose, a pale pink
- Frost Light, a pale blue
- Rainbow Snow, a silver with rainbow holo
- Party Punch, a darker pink
- Midnight Spark, a darker blue
When swatching I didn’t use a peel off basecoat so they did take a while to remove but no staining was left on my nails.
Wear wise I had a good 4-5 days before the edges started to look worn and one nail chipped.
I would definitely recommend these polishes!
