A review of Barry M Cosmetics Fixing and Setting Spray
A Barry M setting spray can be a great drugstore purchase to add to your makeup routine. But with so many to choose from how will you know which to get?
Why use a setting spray?
I used to be quite against make-up fixing sprays as their main ingredient is water and most used to cost a ridiculous price. However these three from Barry M-an ethical brand with vegan products-have a great price point and work perfectly. I actually really love and recommend these setting sprays!
Obviously a setting spray can not change the quality of the makeup or makeup application but they can help it to last longer and, most importantly for me, give skin a last minute fix of hydration.
Barry M Setting Spray Review
All Night Long
I am currently using All Night Long as my setting spray and can really see the difference. I don’t apply as much as the bottle implies you should so each bottle lasts a long time and my skin is left feeling great. 4/5
Flawless Mist and Fix
Flawless Mist and Fix is great for an illuminating finish as it contains effectively glitter and bronzing particles but you must be sure to apply it as a mist (i.e. not too much or holding the bottle too close) otherwise you will give yourself large sparkly freckles! 4/5
Rose Serum Spray
Rose serum spray on the right is probably my favourite as it is a calming skin spray first setting spray second. This gives a hydrating and refreshing spritz to skin before or after makeup without being too wet.
My skin feels so much better after using it-sometimes multiple times through the day. It also smells delicious! I refilled an empty bottle with water and spritz my face liberally when I am having a no-makeup day working away on the computer. Goodbye tired eyes and it refreshes me to carry on working! I can imagine the coconut one is similar but I can’t try that due to allergies 5/5
2024 Update to setting sprays
Barry M have recently updated all their setting spray products. I love the new packaging. They’ve stepped up a gear in looks and so perhaps appeal to an older market.
They currently have four listed on their website
- Spf 50 setting spray (love this idea-you should wear spf every day!)
- Fresh Face Setting Spray in
- Dewy
- Matte
- Fixation
These all look great and I cant wait to try them.
